Glass bottle surface treatment technology – glass bottle coating

The surface condition, composition, and internal structure of a glass bottle significantly influence its overall characteristics. The surface properties play a crucial role in determining the chemical stability of the glass. This stability, in turn, affects the mechanical strength and impact resistance of the bottle. Essentially, the morphology and structure of the glass surface are key factors that dictate its chemical stability, mechanical strength, and ability to withstand impacts.

The shape and structure of the glass surface play a crucial role. When treating the surface of glass bottles, the goal is to alter the container's chemical stability and repair any damage to enhance its durability. This is primarily achieved through various techniques such as applying coatings during bottle production, physical and chemical reinforcement, acid treatments on the surface, and plastic coatings. In this context, we will focus on discussing glass bottle coating methods.

1,hot coating

Hot coating is carried out after bottle forming and before annealing.after molding of glass bottles in slowly cooled to 500 ~ 600 ℃,apply a metal coating(such as tin oxide, titanium oxide, tin chloride, etc.)spray on the surface of the container, thermal coating.hot coating is carried out after bottle forming and before annealing.after molding of glass bottles in slowly cooled to 500 ~ 600 ℃,apply a metal coating(such as tin oxide, titanium oxide, tin chloride, etc.)spray on the surface of the container.

2,Cold coating

cold coating is done after the glass bottle is annealed. monostearate, polyethylene, oleic acid, silane, spray silicone or other polymer emulsions into a mist,it is attached to the surface of a glass bottle with a certain temperature(the bottle temperature depends on the spraying material, about 21 to 80 ° C).form a protective layer with abrasion resistance and lubricity.
